GOLF
Destined to be South America's premier golf course, this magnificent 18-hole, par-72 course already has critics raving about the beauty of its natural setting. Perfectly nestled in the rolling Uruguayan countryside, the course winds around numerous lakes, wetland, native trees and ornamental grass outcroppings. It presents one of South America's truest and purest tests for golfers for all categories.

The course was designed by the international architectural team at American Golf Course Design LTDA, South America's most prestigious design firm. Golfers will appreciate such details as the truest bent-grass putting surfaces south of the equator - maintained at 1/8 of an inch year round, the finest hybrid Bermuda fairways, challenging white sand bunkers and expansive lakes, all designed and maintained to create an unforgettable golf experience.

We invite you to experience a unique philosophy in the art of well-being. Four Seasons Resort Carmelo introduces to this part of the southern hemisphere the balanced harmony influenced by yin and yang - the male and female balance in life; the sun and the moon; day and night. With simple, caring touches, we pay special attention to the senses: scents to help you feel alert yet peaceful, natural sounds to ease your mind, exotic colours and images ... our treatments will soothe and refresh mind, body and soul.

POOL
The large outdoor swimming pool with double cascade is surrounded by custom-designed lounge chairs. Poolside lunches, snacks and beverages are available upon request.

FITNESS FACILITIES
The facility offers a fully equipped gymnasium, men's and women's locker rooms with sauna, a resting area with fireplace, meditation room and a juice bar with an extensive menu of refreshments, natural juices, shakes, vegetable juices and natural cocktails. A complete selection of free weights, strength machines and dumbbells are available for guests' use, and personal training appointments can be arranged at the fitness centre reception desk. 

TENNIS
The tennis courts are located on the Resort property, offering two Har-Tru courts. Har-Tru courts are a preferred clay-like surface manufactured from crushed green and gray stone to create an exceptional playing surface. Both tennis courts are lit for night play.

CHILDREN
Four Seasons is a wonderful base for families, and not just because of our complimentary children's programme. We always welcome our young guests with an amenity upon check-in. Bedtime milk and cookies are also available for the asking. Pura restaurant offers a special children's menu. Children under 12 can share their parents' room at no extra charge. Help arranging family diversions or babysitting services is as close as our ever-resourceful Concierge.

Our complimentary Kids For All Seasons programme is designed to take advantage of the Resort's natural environment and expansive grounds. Offered daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm for children ages 5 to 12, the year-round, supervised programme creates memorable and educational experiences in a casual, fun environment.

While the hub of activity is the children's centre, kids quickly realise that the entire Resort is their playground. A child's typical day may entail sand sculpting, arts and crafts, treasure hunt or playing hide-and-seek in the woods.

Bungalows offer a spacious living and sleeping area, with a king-sized bed, comfortable sitting area and dinette table for two. Each bungalow includes a fireplace for cosy evenings, as well as private garden with an outdoor shower.

• The sleeping area features a hand-carved bed with goosedown pillows. Mesh drapery surrounds the bed, creating a dramatic look.

• These rooms have a ceiling fan, built-in safe in the separate dressing room, dual-line telephones (one with speaker) with data and fax ports and a cordless phone, as well as connectivity to the Internet. Every room offers an espresso machine.

Bi - Level Suites feature a unique design for more space and privacy. On the lower level, the living area offers a wood-burning fireplace, dinette table and adjoining guest bathroom. The loft bedroom includes a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom.

With an airy, two-storey design, Bi-level Suites provide additional space and privacy.

• Upstairs, the king bedroom offers an exquisite locally carved four-poster Lapacho bed and wonderful polished wooden floors. Mesh drapery surrounds the bed, creating a dramatic look. The rooms are accented with woven and embroidered wall tapestries, rugs from Uruguay and cosy banquettes.
• These suites have a built-in safe, dual-line telephones (one with speaker) with data and fax ports and a cordless phone, as well as connectivity to the Internet. Every room offers an espresso machine, a satellite television and two radio CD players.
